Hi there and Happy New Year from California!

I love what you and your students/faculty have done with blogs and Wordpress and wonder if I can pick your brain a little bit regarding performance issues we are having with WP at Saint Mary's College. We have also recently set up a network of blogs and currently have 80 active sites.

Unfortunately, we are experiencing major difficulties with slowness over the network. We have made alterations to php code and made sure our control panel (Plesk) is aligned with the recommendations from WordPress.org codex but nothing we have done solves the problem. We have also, deleted all themes and plug-in's and then re-added them one-by-one to see if there may be an issue on that level....so far we still have not been able to locate the problem.

Specifically what happens is that when one use logs in to their dashboard and adds images, audio or video, other users can not edit until the first user's uploading process has completed. At first we thought the issue was our network in the various computer labs on campus but have since determined that is not the case.

We are completely stumped!

Any help you can offer would be appreciated.

OK...it's been a while, but I do have dim memories of what's involved. My problem, however, is that I don't see anything when I go to my admin page. I had some trouble remembering my password, and perhaps I tried too many times. Could I be locked out? I opted to "change password"...but still nothing, and I mean nothing, appeared on my admin page, yet there was the word "DONE" at the bottom left corner of my monitor.

I'd like to post something to maoch.org. I'd also like to visit my other blogs. Any suggestions on how I get there?

Many thanks...I await your wisdom.

Pamela,

Did you signup for a widgetbox account? Usually once you do this you get an idea for your specific widget. Let me know where you are running into the issue in the comments here, or email me at jimgroom@gmail.com.

I have created the blog as a class assignment for COMM 315. I have looked at the Tutorial for using Widgetbox widgets but not quite sure how how I find the "Panel ID" that I need to use. Do I need to buy WidgetBox Pro or is there something I am missing here?
